November. Already.

Hi all, had to delete my last blog post. Too many people thought I was talking about them.  Didn’t see that coming.

In the first week of NaNoWriMo and going strong. If you have never heard of it, you basically write a novel in 30 days. It averages to about 1500 words a day. This will be my third time through it. Good stuff. Really pushes your focus. I’m at about 20k of the total 50k so, kicking ass. Writing is the hardest thing of all my creative endeavors because I literally can’t do anything else but write and I’m a multitasking freak. When I’m doing art and design I can listen to music, watch a movie, check out a podcast, brush up on my Spanish… but when I’m writing all I can do is write and listen to techno. If so much as whisper hits me from across the house, I’m distracted. Makes for a painful experience on a deadline, but on the other hand, it forces me to get it done.

Been working on the same book for a while now, it keeps evolving and changing so I keep going back and revising. It kills me to keep going back through it, but ultimately with each revision it gets better so I’m using NaNoWriMo to whack at it another time through. Picking up a much edgier tone this time around. Really growing teeth. Kind of like it.

Also juggling a position at MMCC, travel plans, holiday plans (how the hell are we looking at the last two months of 2017?), and all the usual day to day lunacy I like to call living down the rabbit hole.  makes for good stories anyway… many of which will be in the book. But more on that later, I haven’t met my word count yet today!
